Thanks for clearing that up for me Andy. I was thinking that if that circuit was suitable I would add an opto in front of the Tx to isolate it and use the power from the motor driver jst connector for the DC voltage. I have got all the parts for that circuit bar the 10 uf cap so I might just go ahead and build it.
