Output Position Data? was created by rainbow_lazer
Hi All! I'm trying to figure out if there's a way for EMC to pass a CNC's position data (X/Y/Z coordinates) to a separate piece of software?
Basically, I'm using a CNC gantry to move a camera around, and I need the camera's control software to respond to the position.
I seem to remember seeing something relevant in the documentation a while back but can't seem to find it anymore.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi
In what form do you want the co-ordinates passed?
There is a 'teach' program somewhere, I wrote one for plotting co-ordinates for drilling operations.
Sounds like you want info passed in realtime, are you wanting control of the gantry from your software, or just the ability to know the co-ordinates of the place the camera is looking at?
regards
