Probe settings

Hi,

I'm very new to LinuxCNC.

I have managed to get my probe working with the smartprobe.ngc routine.

What I don't know, is how to set the dimensions for the probe e,g if I have an object that I want to probe that is roughly about 100mm x 250mm, where do I let the probe routine know that?

Thanks John. I were able to change the X and Y diameters to what I need.

But now I keep on getting the error message "Probe is already tripped when starting G38.2 or G38.3 move" . This happens when the probe goes down until it touches the subject.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

this can be a number of things , but i have found most to be causes of either interference or the probe is inverted
have you used screened cable to the probe ? , one other probable solution is to add a debounce to the pin in your hal file

I changed to the mm version of smartprobe, and played around with the config settings in the file. Everything is working now.

It's working really awesome.
