Steppers only moving one step. was created by Fordgalaxy
Hoping one you folks has an idea.
I did the usual X2 build, used kellings package with three 4030's C10 bob.
It was running, until the last pc I had it connected to gave up.
Built a new linux box, put it all back together and now it doesn't run. When I'm running stepconfig and get to the point where it says test this axis, when I click on the arrow I can hear the motor click and feel the shaft move, maybe 1/4 of a degree. I tried it several times, and about half of the time after the stepper clicks there will be a faint hi piched sound.
I'm hoping one of you folks might know what is going on,? Thinking I may have toasted my C10, but the motors are getting something from the controller, they grab when they get power, and think about moving when I try to jog them.
all three axis's do the same thing.
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Bill

Might want to look here...
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/common/Stepper_Diagnostics.html
Double check your timing, step and direction pins, speed, acceleration etc.

have you altered the default acceleration etc in your ini file , or if using older config , it may have become over written

I've just been trying to get them to move in the step config program, where it says test this axis
