Hello.
I have already tried my best to find info how to configure the HAL layer for Raspberry (B+).
I have 2.7.0~pre0 of LinuxCNC on top of PREEMPT 3.12.35 kernel. Does it require some patches?
I have L297 & 298 based driver boards to run the steppers. Still way to go, how to get the signals outputted to GPIOs.
I haven't been successful in configuring the parport driver in HAL (although I've used the stepconf wizard).
Error message is: insmod failed, returning -1. That is coming from the "loadrt hal_parport cfg=...."
Can you provide link to instructions how the HAL configuration is done for RPi?
Br, Arto

Hi
There is a long thread on the computer section of the forum, but unsure if it ever gives specific details or reaches a conclusion.
Really you need to go to the Machinekit forum and ask there.
groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/machinekit
Others there have done it and I think there is a working SD card image
(albeit few if any use the rPi because it is so underpowered)
Not really a surprise, which parport on the rPi were you expecting to connect to?
regards
