From Mach3 to Linuxcnc was created by slowtwitch
Hello folks, I've been on the fence about switching from Mach3 to LinuxCNC for some time. Currently, I have LinuxCNC 2.6 installed on a spare computer and have been playing around with it. Now mind you, I'm a complete dummy in the Linux world. One of the things that I have a problem with is...simple probing routines. Such as finding the center of a hole, the corner of a part, etc.
In LinuxCNC, are these functions only done through G-code ????? is Is there a Linux screen with these functions already installed ????
Here is an example of what I use...Hoss's probing screenset
Is there something like this in LinuxCNC ????
Btw, I just want to say THANK YOU, to all the people who make this stuff possible. Keep up the great work !!!!

Yes, probing is done in G code. You can add buttons to your screen or use ngcgui to add probing routines.
