Ubuntu Linux 10.04 has an antique version of Samba tghat doesn't talk to Windows 7. I would love to move to a more recent Ubuntu version. Is there a way to get the latest version of LinuxCNC on ubuntu 12? I am going to use this to control a Sherline 5400 mill.

I'm running 2.6.8 on Xbuntu Desktop 32 bit 12.04.4. Its a manual install but googling will give you instructions including the real time kernel and LinuxCNC
