Setting home to middle of part.

Using a 3 axis CNC router. My brother in law built me some CNC code that has the home position in the middle of the part. This is so the part can be turned over and located with a 1/4" hole.

When I try to set home to the middle of the part LinuxCNC puts half the part outside the limits of the machine because home is the bottom left of the work area.. Is there documentation (I haven'd found any) that shows how to set home to the middle of a part?

You may be confusing terms - home and origin.

Home is where the machine goes to after homing.
Origin is where you set the zero point of the part.

"touchoff' is the usual term for setting the origin.
How are you touching off?

How are you homing?
Do you have home switches?

What version of linuxcnc are you using ?
what screen are you using ( usually it is AXIS)?

Thank you, Sir! I think you just turned on the light for me. I'll tinker along those lines ...
