Which driver/controller boards are suggested?

I selected some steppers to build a CNC, now seeking a controller that will work with LinuxCNC(LC) and those 4 motors. It helps if the controller has micro-stepping capability. My PC has a parallel port. (I might have said something meaningless here as I am new to CNCs)

Bipolar holding torque - about 500 oz/in
Bipolar parallel current 6.5A
Unipolar current 4.6A


Will any controller work with LC or is there one that is recommended or used by most LC users?

I have several 24Volt power supplies with high current output, can I use them instead of buying a power supply?
