Hi, I'm trying to update my Smithy 622 (Mesa 5i20 Ctrl) with LinuxCNC over Debian (direct image files). This machine works well with EMC2 2.3.5 and Ubuntu 8.04.
My first problem is that the machine still in EStop mode at startup, even with my reset sequence (key-off / RESET push button / key-on). I see my machine key switch toggling in HAL monitoring, but I can't figure the rest of logic to go further.... any ideas?????
I'm using the 622.hal and 622.ini configuration.

Why are you trying to upgrade if the machine works well? It's quite possible that the older PC runs better on older OS.
Did you follow the upgrade path from 2.3 to 2.7?

with transferring from such an older version , it is highly possible some naming conventions have changed or replaced
archive your config and attach , and we can take a look , rather than muddle through finding them .
