Hmmm, So outta the box fresh install and update of LinuxCNC 2.7.3 I'm seeing latency of:
Servo 42237(ns)
Base 26936(ns)
Not even close to what some of you are reporting (15000, 8000)
I'm using an ATI X1300
I tried the isolcpus and irqbalance tricvks by adding the kernel options but that didn't work well.
The Latency actually jumped to 46910(ns) . After a bit more research it appears that isolcpus is
no longer needed/used.

That will do. It's not spectacular, but it is quite good enough.

Before I got some tweaking going I was sitting at 75000 with spikes taking it up to 150000.
But mine wasn't usable.
