Linux version 2.6.4 Error... was created by townsendbp
I'm trying to get Linux running on a mill that I've converted and I'm getting a terminating error.
Have any of you folks ever seen this...
0.115295 ACPI Error: [CAPD] Namespace lookup failure, AE ALREADY EXISTS (20120320/dsfield-143)
0.115295 ACPI Error Method parse/execution failed [\_5B_.PICO._OSC] (nODE f5044890) AE_ALREADY_EXISTS...
Can you tell me what it means and whether it is the cause for an abend?? And if so, how to correct it?? thanks, brooks

That error doesn't look like anything to do with LinuxCNC. When do you see it?
Are you saying that the PC does not even boot?
ACPI is power management, I would suggest looking at power management in the BIOS setup.

i would turn power management off in your bios , theirs quite a list of possibles if you google it , but this is more a kernel issue than a linuxcnc point .
