MESA 7i84 and DYN3 was created by OT-CNC
I'm in the process of wiring the fault outputs from my DMM DYN3 drives to my 7i84 anything i/o doughtercard. I just wanted to confirm with Mesa that the input requirements are correct for the below wiring schematics. According to DMM, this is the question I should ask;
The manual does not show a circuit diagram so would be best to ask them directly if their sink circuit has built in resistors. Otherwise use a voltmeter to see if you can measure a resistance between the input pins and ground. Most I/O cards should have the resistors built in.

I'm using external 24v and if I follow the diagrams, I plan on connecting +24 V to DO4+ and run 1 wire from DO4- to my input pin on the 7i84?
All my other 24v input/output connections are operational on the 7I84. Correct me if I'm getting this wrong. I'm always confused with the opto coupler circuts. Obviously I'm not an EE.

7I84 inputs are sinking type with a pulldown resistor to field power
common, so for example servo ready wiring would be:

DO1+ to 24V field power
DO1- to 7I84 input

Like your "Relay at Host Controller" example above
