I want to use messa 7i43-4 board. I tried to download packages using synaptic package manager but faced with an error:
https://package URL
404 not found.

Is there any way to download and install the packages manually? Or fixing that error somehow?

But how can use this on Ubuntu?

There are many .BIT files in different folders, I want to use USB input and there are many folders with that name inside the ZIP file.

Which one is right for me?

The USB firmware will not work with LinuxCNC (at least for real time motion control.
LinuxCNC only supports EPP mode with the 7I43

Thanks for your help. And one more question is that do I need to configure the related PCI in the hal file?
I used a Linux CNC configuration example for that and there was nothing about PCI configuration inside related hal file.

If you are using a 7I43 in EPP mode you will need to know the base
address of the PCI parallel port that's interfaced to the 7I43

You can either rely on Linux's port enumeration and use port addresses 0 or 1 for parallel port numbers
or use lspci to find the base address of the parallel port

Note that many PCI parallel ports are based on the NetMOS/MOSChip 9805 series chips
Unfortunately these chips do not implement EPP mode correctly so cannot be used with the 7I43

As a general rule you are better off using a PC with a built in parallel port when using a 7I43 in EPP mode
