I am retrofit a Chiron FZ16 with Mesa 5i25 and 7i77 and now I have to replace the Siemens simoreg 6RB2025 ( It`s out of order now )
with the Argon Servo Drive .
The axis Motors are Siemens 1HU3058 with Encoder and Tachogenerator .

I have the Encoder wiried to the 7i77 card , but need I the Tachogenerator for Argon Servo Drive ?

It`s a lot of info in the Granite Devices wiki and eusurplus wiki but no about Tachogenerator .

Sorry for my english ....

Says that Tachogenerator is "planned"

The Argon drive has an internal velocity feedback loop using the encoders, so you may not need the tachogenerator.
I would suggest leaving the tachos mounted, they are doing no harm, but configure the machine to not use them initially.
