Two MESA cards in one system

Hi all,

My mill is running a 6i25+7i76 card.
For my lathe I also going to use LinuxCNC, also a 6i25+7i76 kit I think.
I'm curious if it's possible to use two MESA cards in the same machine? Both machines won't run at the same time.
But is it possible to switch in LinuxCNC to make a profile for my mill and one for my lathe?
Or is it better to have two separate machines.

You can easiiy have as many LinuxCNC configurations as you like on one machine
you just name the ini and hal files differently and launch the desired one.

You can run multiple Mesa cards (and even mesa card types) in one machine. The pin names for the second card will be different. For example, the pin names of a second 6I25 would start with hm2_5i25.1.xxx instead of hm2_5i25.0.xxx

If you want a single controller for two machines, instead of 2 6I25s, I would be temped to run both machines from one 6I25 card ( with one 7I76 on P3 and the other on P2)

I use 7i76e in my machines. I have one card in each machine and the RJ45 connected to a plug.

So i plug my laptop with a standard cat6 cable to the machine and run the corresponding config.

I have also one pendant using a 7i73 and zhat one is also used on different hardware, just pluging the network cable from the card to the machine.
