Do you still have the commands here in at least one of the HAL files specified in the INI file?

Gscreen usually uses it's own toolchange dialog.
it could possible be hidden under gscreen.
Without knowing what you modified hard to say what is going on.
What did you change that made it not work?
Posting your files would probably help.

excellent.
Are your modifications to gscreen extensive?
I'm always curious on what people have done with gscreen.

I think they are , i modified it more for the way my machine is built and for the type of work i do. I have a bridgeport boss that i do alot of "one offs " and manual type work with. i just got it to the point where i can run a program but now ive found some bugs that i need to work out then ill be glad to share it. Im migrating from mach3 and i have alot to learn not only about linuxcnc but linux as well. Are you the original author of gscreen ?

I really liked thst gui , as a matter of fact it had a big influence on my decision to move away from mach3 . right out of the box it was almost everything i needed so i decided to learn how to build off of what you did. I dont think i could have succeeded without your code to work with. For whatever its worth "Thanks Alot " I really do appreciate it.
