This is with the Mesa card , 7i92 is the one I am using.

lenovo T420S works but i got errors after a while about sserial communication, so only for testing.
Dell E6510 works despite bad latency, after 20 minutes it wont errror anymore, it works properly. again i would not use it on a machine.
this is all with a 7i76E , i have not tried the 7i92 yet.
Laptops that do works for software steping with a bit of tweaking, IBM T40, T41, T42, IBM X60 with docking station.
I use several Dell E6400 for software stepping, but the base thread has to be set at 300000. Of cource with the docking station.
Beware of the IBM mentioned above, you have to disable everything in BIOS or they wont work.
