				Good Day Gents..
First of all.. thank you all for helping when needed.
Here it is...
Today we wanted to start our WSC-6 lathe 1989, and getting as x,z axis error.. Seems that the problem is within the Servo Amp.. since is 2 in 1 looking at a 1.5$USD+ on ebay.. Probably will be chaper to retrofit with couple of Yaskawas / Motenc cards..
I'm wondering if someone managed a commenrcion retrofit on a Okuma / WSC ?
Can the old handle / encoder be used for manual handle ?

Just because you are getting a servo alarm on your Fanuc control, doesn't necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with the amp. On a machine that old one of the first things you should check are the condition of the cabling for the motors and drives. I was having servo alarm problems on a Fanuc controlled router built in 2005, and I ended up having to replace all of the servo motor and spindle power cabling on that machine. The encoder cables were fine, but the manufacturer didn't use as good of quality cable for the power wires, and it was all shot (internal shorts and broken wires.).

I think that a couple of Okuma lathes have been done. However I am not sure that a Motenc card is a good choice nowadays. There are other options with rather better LinuxCNC support at much lower cost.

I don't like to recommend specific cards. but there is a useful list here:
