hi linuxcnc users
i m Yannis
i work in a marble workshop in thessaloniki greece
we have 2 cnc machines one 3 axis and one 5 axis
we build bothe of them from scrap and they are working with mach3
in marbles in general we dont need the close tolerance of the metall works
the reason to try to learn linux cnc is that i have 2 sets of analog dc and ac servomotors
(3 pcs dc of bosch and 3 pcs ac from drive system) and i woold like to use them
for converting a marble bridge saw to 4 or 5 axis bridge saw cnc
after little search in the forum ithink that a 5i25+7i77 is a good choise
so the next question is what is the best pc for this task??
i can find in the market used pc intel core i5 with 150euros wichis in my budget
is it a good choise??
thanks for your time and effort

Dell optiplex series are usable and they will not fail, older ones are good even for software stepping. Stay away from HP, i have cone acros only 2 models that are usable. Also some generic computers with Asus Deluxe mother boards are quite good.

Here is the hardware that is fast;current and flawless.
I am extremely happy with this setup.
If you would like something dependable this has been flawless. So far
I'm running a 5i25/7i77 setup as well. Linux mint 18.1 with preempt kernel. 21 inch touchscreen.
