@Seb I downloaded and installed the buildbot.linuxcnc.org/dists/wheezy/scrat...req~4e66ee1_i386.deb file and can see the Base ferquency and motor poles in the Hal meter ok.
Can the value be written to the VFD from Hal like the other command strings used to setup the inverter, my custom.hal file uses this command stringIs there a command for use with the base frequency and motor poles?

You can set the base frequency from the command line with --base-frequency or -B, and motor poles with --motor-poles or -P .
