I don't think so. I think it was an add-in that disappeared with a forum upgrade.

I don't even know if the system even registers locations any more.

Have you found the LinuxCNC documentation? It is quite extensive:

linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/

JT has written some tutorials:
