Adding a rotary axis to an xyzx router was created by aaron
Hi
Thanks to the great people on the forum, I now a have my CNC router table working beautifully with two steppers on the x axis.
Now that all the axis on the machine have to be homed from the home all button, my question today is: How do I add a 4th rotary axis with a cheap Chinese breakout board that has connections for 5 stepper motors but only 4 connections for home switches?. Is it possible to share a connection, and as the machine homes in a sequence it only takes an input from the switch that it activates. Or is there another way to do it?
As ever, any help gratefully received.
Best regards
Aaron

Great news Aaron. I'm sure we talked you into using master branch (V 2.8) so immediate homing will do the trick. This is how I'll add my rotray axis to my gantry machine.

Just set the rotary axis to home at zero speed (HOME_SEARCH_VELOCITY = 0) and it will home wherever it is. This is generally OK for rotary axes.
