A combination of Mesa boards for 5 axis servo + full encoders inputs WO PCI was created by behidad
I need a combination of Mesa boards for 5 axes CNC machine using servomotors(with digital step gen drives) with full encoder inputs (a, b and index feedback).
Because I want to assemble with a tiny computer I am not going to use a PCI board (I can not use 5I25 for example)
I prefer to use a NIC(RJ45) board (7I76e for example).
But 7I76E does not support any encoder input for each servo digital step gen drive.
Can I use any card along with a 7I76E board to be able to have full encoders input for each axis.
Can I assemble it (7I76E) with a 7I47 for this?
any suggestions for such a combination??
And if I finally had to use a PCI board. which combination you suggest?
Again I should emphasize that I use servomotors for each axis with a digital step gen drive with feed back return(delta ASD-B2 AC SERVO DRIVE).
I have attached my drive photo too.
Tnx.

You could add a 7I85 or 7I85S to the 7I76E and gain 4 more encoder inputs (5 total)
but do you need a spindle encoder? if so this would leave you short one encoder
If you do need 6 encoders, a 7I80HD + a 7I52S will give you 6 step/dir outputs and 6 encoder inputs
you would probably need to add some kind of I/O cards for limit switches etc

Tnx so much.
Yes I need one encoder input for the spindle too.
I'm new to linuxcnc. Which combination is better to set up? (firmware, bitfile, config, etc.)
And which combination is better to adapt to different CNCs?
I couldn't find 7I52S in the Mesa's list of boards. Where is it?
