How about the homing INI config variables? I don't see them in milltask or linked in my hal file: linuxcnc.org/docs/2.6/html/config/ini_co...Homing-related-items

Are there hal pins that control those?

There are ini. HAL pins for home position, home offset and home sequence.
I guess you want to change the home velocities?

I don't know if you can.

Home is the most important. I guess I didn't try it, but it's not listed in the man page you listed. Is it just ini.#.home? I'll give it a shot next time I have it up.

It might depend on the version. You are linking to 2.6 docs, current is 2.7, and I am looking in the HAL of a Master(development) version.

brief history of applicable commits showing:
LinuxCNC version, commit SHA, description
2.6 e5858b2 make pins for several ini file items
2.6 dc00d06 ini: add hal pin for ini max_acceleration
2.6 a7c10d0 inihal.cc: bugfix, typo for ini.n.backlash

2.7 4ef6ce7 inihal: add hal pins for trajectory planner items

master 6d2c72e inihal: support axis ini items (joints_axes)
master 83398b1 inihal: new ini hal pins for home, home_offset JA
master b5ef8a8 inihal.cc: local home_offset update missing JA
master 12320cc ini hal pins new: ini.N.home_sequence

Reading back you mention machinekit -- doubt if they have
all of these commits since the master branch
of LinuxCNC has adopted joints-axes updates
