How about the homing INI config variables? I don't see them in milltask or linked in my hal file: linuxcnc.org/docs/2.6/html/config/ini_co...Homing-related-items
Are there hal pins that control those?

There are ini. HAL pins for home position, home offset and home sequence.
I guess you want to change the home velocities?
I don't know if you can.

Home is the most important. I guess I didn't try it, but it's not listed in the man page you listed. Is it just ini.#.home? I'll give it a shot next time I have it up.

It might depend on the version. You are linking to 2.6 docs, current is 2.7, and I am looking in the HAL of a Master(development) version.
