Config issues was created by KimJongChill
Hello.
I have setup the config for my sherline machine. The "run test" for each axis measures correctly.
But when i run programs, each axis is only moving half of the distance.
Im using Autocad inventor to generate g-codes and no g51 codes in the post process.
It might be that the config is not updating correctly.
Has anyone here had similar problems?
Btw, microstepping is set to 2 for each axis in the config.

So I have been reading, sherline stepper motors are unipole (i assumed bipole).
Does that mean i need to set the steps to 400 on each of the axis?
If this is the case then why does the test run on the axis work but not while in the program?

The normal reason for the test to work but not the actual config is that the test does not operate the "enable" pins on the drives.
The difference makes me worry that you might have wired "step" to "enable". Surprisingly this can sometimes work...

I didn't wire them myself, Im using sherline driver box. I set the step to 400 and acceleration and max speed way down and that's done it.
Why does the test not use the enable pins on the drives?

That is a very good question, and not one I had thought to ask.
It may be that, at that point in the setup, the enable pins have not been defined? I confess I haven't used Stepconf for many years.
