fanuc red cup motors will run with linuxcnc?

Hi again to the forum
i find a GMF ROBOTICS S-420 F Robot in a very good price and i m thinking to buy it and use it for parts in my next
lcnc machine
the info i find in the web was very poor
have anyone try to use servo motor (red cup) witch is ac servos and there drivers with linyx cnc

The answer is a definite maybe, but probably more trouble than they are worth. If they are old enough that the drives have analog inputs you can probably get them to work. If they interfaced with the control via optical cables, then probably not.

Not much. That is old enough to possibly be analog, and not have serial encoders. But I don't know for certain. You really almost have to check part numbers on the drives and encoders.
There are others much more knowledgeable on this subject around here.

The linuxcnc "bldc" module knows how to interpret the red-cap commutation signals, and can convert to conventional hall signals (amongst other things).

I assume that you do not have the original drives?
