Cannot get motors to move

Hi, I am trying to set up and wire a mill conversion, but I cannot get any motors to move.
I am using Mesa 6i25 and 7i76. I can get a coolant output to work and all X,Y,Z direction signals work.

I will be using servos, but at the moment I am using a stepper to test with.
Step spacing is set to:
STEPLEN = 2500
STEPSPACE = 2500

Voltage across Step- and step+ is -4.75v and when I try to jog an axis it changes to -4.70v. Swapping step- and step+ does not make it work and the direction signals were on the board where I expected them to be so I do not think I am using the wrong pins.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might not be working?

Cheers
Alan

Is the stepper drive powered up and the stepper motor warm and holding position?

if the voltage across STEP+ and STEP- reverses when you jog it suggests that you have step and direction swapped.

The stepper is on and has holding torque. I can also make it step by manually applying 5v.

The voltage across Dir- and Dir+ swaps for all 3 axis when I try to jog in the negative direction.

Try doubling the step length

That did the trick. Thanks PCW.
I did not think to change that as it seemed to be in the higher range of suggested values.
