First you must decide how you want to work!
Either you go with enable and direction signals or with forward and reverse signals.
Have a look with of the two ways is presented at your mesa output pins. Than connect the two to your vfd. At last change with P parameter the behaviour of these two vfd input pins. Done

The motion component has a motion.spindle-forward pin, and a motion.spindle-reverse pin. Run your config. Do Machine, Show Hal Configuration, then watch those pins while you select spindle forward/reverse in manual control. If they come on, they just need mapping to the appropriate output. There is also a motion spindle on pin, mine comes on for forward or reverse.

It isn't quite that simple, I don't think, with the 7i76. The reason is that the enable output is set when the analogue output is enabled.
So you do rather need to configure the VFD to use "on" and "reverse" rather than "fwd" "reverse" mode.
If this is impossible then you need to use a anoither GPIO output, or do something cunning with relays.

Have not jet programed my vfd but read that there are more then only two inputs and over 10 choises for each how vfd reacts. F.x. i will change my first there to enable/direction/estop.

Got it working with some help of another forum
To summarize the answer I received:
ENA+ connected to FOR
DIR+ connected to REV
ENA- and DIR- connected to DCM
on vfd:
PD044 to 1
PD045 to 5
It works perfect
But the scale is off
When I enter a M3 S300 it spins 2000RPM
But when I enter M3 S1 it also spins 2000RPM
I used a 12v power supply
Do I need to configure something else?
It seems it will only run at max rpm.
Base and Max freq is set to 50Hz

What is ...7i76.0...scalemax (As you can tell, I have forgotten the actual pin name)
That needs to be set to the maximum speed of the spindle.

It's these:
setp hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-minlim [SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_MIN_LIMIT
setp hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-maxlim [SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_MAX_LIMIT
setp hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-scalemax [SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_SCALE
What values do you have in the INI for those parameters?
setp hm2_5i25.0.7i76.0.0.spinout-minlim [SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_MIN_LIMIT

Hmm. Are those definitely in the [SPINDLE_9] section?
