Loosing the keyboard after a cut was created by Gr8funTargets
Hi All
I've been using LinuxCNC for 4+ years or so now and just completed an upgrade after a minor HW disaster. Everything is back to normal but "normal" includes loosing the keyboard after a couple of pierces\cuts.
It's no big deal as I do prototyping only with this machine, I just unplug it and re-plug and all is good, but wondered if anyone else had experienced this and if so did they have a solution to remedy it?
I guess it is going to be some sort of electrical interference from the plasma arc.. . but what needs shielding?
Any ideas chaps?
Thanks in advance
Danny

Check grounding, move keyboard and mouse cables as far as possible from the plasma cutter, change the keyboard as new ones have bad shielding, put cables through metal tubes.

Have a look in dmesg, if you see the USB keyboard being lost and reconnected every few seconds then it is probably RFI of some sort.
Is it a wired or wireless keyboard?
