Will the 7i96 (Ethernet) work with the latest release of Debian (linuxcnc).
Will it be in the pncconfig?
Is it a stand alone card unlike say: a 5i25_7i76?
OR am I into a whole new ball game.
I want a card that will do 4 axis and give me about 6 inputs and 6 outputs. Something simple.
Any knowledge appreciated.
thanks

The 7I96 needs the userspace version of LinuxCNC 2.8 and a Preempt-RT kernel
probably the easiest way to get this is to load the Debian stretch test LinuxCNC distribution and update the LinuxCNC version to 2.8

I am not quite sure what you just said!
What is "stretch test LinuxCNC distribution".
Sorry, I am on a bit of a learning curve with all the Linux versions and lingo. Serves me right for being a MS slave for so many years. I long for the days of DOS. Yes, I am that old and learning new tricks.
