Hi I retrofitted a woodworking CNC and recently we had a spindle failure, it was a used machine and when we opened it there were so many wrong things.
we decided to buy another one , we are considering one similar to this but a 4.5Kw one.

I have one, but have only used it very lightly so can't advise on quality.

They can be had a lot more cheaply from eBay

(But note the shipping costs, do a search for one already in your country).

Is it worth considering spending more for one that offers tool-changing options?

(Actually, that looks too good to be true at the price.....)
Headline price was just the VFD. But my point still remains, there are ATC-enabled ones for low $thousands. Even if you don't use an ATC, having repeatable tool length is a big win.

yep I'm looking at the shipping options to my country, that second one it depends on the option I guess a really nice one.

I would love an ATC one but we have a very tight budget right now.

and one more question, does those work with a regular VFD? of course one that gets to the needed frequency.

I found this one that seems a good replacement same power than the old one.
I hope it works no problems with the same VFD

I have been using this motor hard for 5 plus years. I think it is the 3kw one though. ITs a work horse......

that's certainly a beautiful motor that would be a perfect addition to the machine but it is out of the current budget.

the machine is not mine my friend owns it and needs it up and running as fast as possible without spending so much money.

thanks for the suggestions it will be on my list when it comes that finally would have my own cnc machine.
