Hi all
First merry Christmas to all
Seconds
Over the last year i have been buying parts to make a mill turn. I want to use linuxcnc but have a backup of sinumeric controller just encase.
So my queston is assuming i have all my messa boards and thanks to folks here i think i do
Can anyone think of a reason why a 7 axis mill turn, ac servo driven, with atc machine can not work?
Linear axis
X
Y
Z
E
Rotary axis
B
C1
C2
(I think the hsk t40 spindle also counts as a rotary axis)
ATC system
Automatic doors to atc system
( would like a duel atc system one on left side and one on right)
Probe
Linear encoders
Thru spindle coolant
Thru spindle air
Genaral coolant
Want to use software like fusion 360 and hsm to get g code im sure post processing is another issue but based on the above can it be done?
So far i have nearly all the components and all thats missing is to design the frame that will hold it all together.
Regards

Well, you can't call the axes anything you want, the letters that are allowed in the G-code are XYZABCUVW, but other than that it all sounds reasonable.

hi
if yopu want to command the axis by linuxcnc you need to stay with the standard 9axis letters like pre posting says
but you can do your own PID Driving system and command them by your own post
Hard Work
you can run 9axis in full sync and 12 Axis in total by the Interpreter
SO you are able to move this mashine

That is new for me, i know about the 9 axis, but how would we enable 12?
Is there any doku or sample config?
I am just adding the ability of 9 axis to gmoccapy, do i need space for 12 DRO?
