In that case it probably is a bug, and you could report it here: github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/issues

Though it might not get fixed, as the author of pncconf is very close to giving up on it. PnCConf seemed like a fairly easy variant on stepconf several years ago when there were only about 3 Mesa FPGA cardsa nd 5 daughter cards.
Then smart-serial and self-configuring cards came along, and made keeping PnCConf up to date really difficult.
