Matsuura MC 500v was created by guy8398
Hello everyone,
I going to retrofit a MATSUURA MC 500V with yasnac 3000g control. The servo drive is Yasnac servopack CPCR-MR 052GC. I could not find the right manual for this drive. It has two 20 pin connectors (1CN and 2CN). all similar ones on yaskawa website have only one 20 pin connector.
This is my first retrofit. I have MESA BOADS 7I77,5I25 AND 7192M.
Please help me put these boards together, connect them to the servopacks and install the linux software.
Thank you all.

Welcome

First you need to get a recent PC
Depending on your need you shoudt look for one running stretch
look here
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Latency-Test

then get you the software
www.linuxcnc.org/testing-stretch-rtpreempt/
ETH Setup PC
o find the ethernet adapter name
ip link show
or
ip a
sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces

auto enp0s25 << change to match your interface name
iface enp0s25 inet static
address 10.10.10.50
netmask 255.255.255.0
RESTART PC
Then connect the 7i92m to the PC and a Realy good 5V source
PC 10.10.10.50
7i92m 10.10.10.10 (default)

install the Firmware
To install mesaflash:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --recv-key 3cb9fd148f374fef
sudo add-apt-repository "deb linuxcnc.org/ jessie base 2.7-uspace"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mesaflash

check the installed firmware
mesaflash --device 7i92 --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid

to flash the firmware (using the correct bit file for your application)
sudo mesaflash --device 7i92 --addr 10.10.10.10 --write 7i92_7i77x2.bit

to reload the firmware
mesaflash --device 7i92 --addr 10.10.10.10 --reload

you are up to connect the 7I77

Thank you pl7i92,
I decided to use 5i25/7i77 plug and go kit instead. I was out there reading things and trying to understand but nothing made sens to me yet.
I've tried to install the linuxcnc 2.7.0 and place the 5i25 card in the computer and then connect it to the 7i77 with the DB25 cable. Next I tried to pncconf and got stuck. I don't understand anything.
Can somebody out there walk through the whole process from the beginning to the end?
PLEASE...

Open a terminal,
Type:
sudo mesaflash --device 5i25 --readhmid

copy and paste the result of that.

Thank you Tommy.
here is the result:

guy@guy:~$ sudo mesaflash --device 5i25 --readhmid

Yes I did with 12V field power connected. Some LEDs were on. I did not recall which ones exactly. Right now I'm away from the computer. When I get back i will try again and paste the result here.
Thanks.

I have the 7i77 connected with the 20v field power supplied ( I'm a little bit worried. I don't wanna go to 24V right the way). and restart the computer. The result is the same. here it is bellow:
