Got it.
So I checked the X axis to see if it is doing the same thing as the Z, and it does.Which is kinda good news. To me that means it's a motor settings issue and I can rule out hardware (besides maybe cheap motors). I ran a program and after about 40 cuts over 2" going back to 0, my z shifted -.008. Which is better than what it was at previous settings
I need to figure out how to adjust the microsteps and why the scale has to be set at -20220 too. Since I didn't build the machine I don't know what motor drivers are in use. I need to drag the lathe away from the wall a little bit in order to get in behind it to find out what they are. They do have dip switches from what I can tell. Once I know what I am working with Ill measure how far the carriage moves for 1 revolution of the motor, to give me a better Idea of what my ball screw is.
Then, I will figure out this stepconfig wizard thing and that should hopefully do the trick. Anything I should be aware of?
