Depending on what os you use
TERMINAL
sudo apt-get install gedit
sudo apt-get install freecad
sudo apt-get install librecad
IT is realy hard to give you infos as you always do not say what you install
what version y<ouare on
how your mashine looks
i guess it is a puma like robot
you try to get it in to catrtesian XYZ
while it needs to be configurerd in Angular mode
THE pinnames have changed from 2.8 so noone can help you as you do not tell us the system

If you installed using the Linuxcnc Wheezy ISO (Debian 7), the Debian repositories have changed since Wheezy is now EOL. They have been moved to archive.debian.org/debian/
You will need to change your repository source list for all of the Debian archives to the new "archive" address. You can do this via Synaptic or by editing /etc/apt/sources.list directly.
