Installing softwares was created by phoenix
can anyone help me with how to install softwares in linux cnc
like i want to install gedit or any other software how to do it
it says unable to locate pakage
do i need to add repository for every pakage
any repository s ???/

Depending on what os you use
TERMINAL
sudo apt-get install gedit

sudo apt-get install freecad

sudo apt-get install librecad

IT is realy hard to give you infos as you always do not say what you install
what version y<ouare on
how your mashine looks
i guess it is a puma like robot
you try to get it in to catrtesian XYZ
while it needs to be configurerd in Angular mode

THE pinnames have changed from 2.8 so noone can help you as you do not tell us the system

If you installed using the Linuxcnc Wheezy ISO (Debian 7), the Debian repositories have changed since Wheezy is now EOL. They have been moved to archive.debian.org/debian/
You will need to change your repository source list for all of the Debian archives to the new "archive" address. You can do this via Synaptic or by editing /etc/apt/sources.list directly.
