Joystick setup help was created by fredo550
I'm trying to setup a joystick but the name is not accepted.
Before starting this device tested OK in windows 10.
my less cmd gave me:
I: Bus=0003 Vendor=045e Product=0083 Version=0110
N: Name="Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse"
P: Phys=usb-0000:00:1a.1-1/input0
S: Sysfs=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.1/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/input/input0
U: Uniq=
H: Handlers=mouse0 event0
B: PROP=0
B: EV=17
B: KEY=70000 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
B: REL=103
B: MSC=10
My joystick.rules file includes this line,
SYSFS{idProduct}==”0003″, SYSFS{idVendor}==”045e”, MODE=”0660″, GROUP=”plugdev”
my hal file contains this line,
loadusr -W hal_input -KRAL Microsoft
but, when running axis I got this error,
No input device matching "Microsoft" was found
Thanks for any hint!

hal_input only works with USB-HID devices. It is vaguely possible that the mouse is not a HID device. (I would be surprised, but it is possible)
a quick Google (I am not at a Linux machine for a few days) suggests that usbhid-dump might answer that question.
You could also try a different works, "Basic" for example. I think that the keyword has to be unique to the device in question.
