Should work though stiffer pullups (say 1K) might be better

I just thought about something. I checked from 5 volt ground to the pin, not field power ground.

should that matter? If field power is isolated, then how would it ref the 5v gnd?

You have to connect the MPG and Field power grounds for this to work

OK, it is the same 5v power I am using for the 7i92 and 7i76. I take it this would be no problem?

As long as you connect the 5V ground and field power ground it should be OK
