I have been having a good old rummage in the documentation, googling, ctrl-f'ing, but can't for the life of me find any documentation beyond the man page and a single line in the main 2.8 manual on the purpose and use of wcomps. Is there anything out there?
I want to use something similar to the vmc vismach to set up virtual sensors for my vismach sim, and wcomp as used in sim_vmc.hal looked useful for that. Or if there is an alternative that would be great too.

EDIT: Ah ok I see, it is literally a simple comparison tool, not explicitly for use in sensors. I can see why it was used in that script
