Its my understanding that these are really designed for flame cutting and do not respond fast enough for plasma cutting.

But as Tommy Says, we need more info about the output to advise how to incorporate it into Linuxcnc.

Its my understanding that these are really designed for flame cutting and do not respond fast enough for plasma cutting.

They do work on plasma, but they are terrible compared to floating switch, they get flummoxed by dust, particles, water, someone sneezing, etc.
So far i have thrown some 5 or 6 of them in perfect working order.

Hi., Here is capacitive thc
It"s for plasma cnc, and it may use for flame, by replacing to bigger diameter of sensor ring

That looks like normal up/down outputs, so it can be used with Linuxcnc. You will also need to make provisions for arcok signal, quite easy to do, but requires a reed relay/switch and opening the plasma.
Before you do that, check if the plasma has any kind of connector for connecting to a pc or controller.
