Found it. I get "cant open file to write" prompt during save.

Fairly sure that means you need to edit it as root.

Oh ya if you mean you can't save the edited file, yes you would need use sudo (administer privileges) to open the editor.

I removed the logo in 2.8+ so this problem will go away eventually.
