Version 2.8 or 2.9? was created by Catch22
Any idea when either of the new versions of Linuxcnc will be ready to use?
Or can they be used now without too much worry?

2.8 is ready, 2.9 is still in development, but that does not stop some of us from using it every day since there are no issues with it to worry about for normal use.

to the tread starter
what machine are you on / installing
do you realy need the new 2.9 -Y qtpyvcp Screens
the 2.8 will have lots of screens with it also
if it is a standard machine you shoudt stay/go with 2.8
and then somewhat after corona BUG report update to 2.9
