Single-board or motherboard/CPU combo suggestion was created by nicber
Good evening everybody,
I've pourchased a 7i76E. I've looked around but I haven't find anything, probably because I haven't looked in the right places. Could someone suggest a single-board or mb/CPU combo that it's known working flawlessly with LinuxCNC?
Thanks in advance.

Thank for the suggestion, I've looked at the thread, from what I've understood this, ASUS H61M-K, 4GB RAM, with RTAI was the best of the systems that you've tested.
I'm going to search one of these boards and a fullscreen touch display.

Hi everybody,
After some more reading I found this for around 100€. Dell OPTIPLEX 7010 DT INTEL CORE I5-3470 8GB RAM. Is this good paired with a 7i76E?
I also would like to use QtPyVCP, does this hardware allow that?
Last question does someone have a suggestion for a fullscreen touch display?
Thank in advance for the patience going through all of my questions.
Have a nice day.

That should be an Enterprise Dell PC, and all of those types of PC's worked perfectly with LinuxCNC so far, i did have a 9020 i think, it is running a router for several years now with a Mesa 7i6E without issues. After some more reading I found this for around 100€. Thank for the reply.
I think that the one I found is one generation older than yours, but I hope that it would work fine. I've checked for the openGL specification to run probe basic and it should be fine.
Now I just need to find a touch screen monitor.
Probably in a week or so I'm starting to wire everything. Thanks for your support.

I have a Siemens 10A 24V industrial power supply, I hope it is good enough. I was thinking exactly that, before wiring everything up in the cabinet I'm going to wire a motor driver, some buttons and an mpg to do some testing as I'm new to LinuxCNC.
Thank for the advice.
