Just a quick one is it sensible to ground the PC case to the plasma frame.

I am getting a few issues with the PlasmaC screen partly freezing in that I can click on the various input boxes under RUN etc work

but clicking on the various tabs does not but if I just leave it idle for a minute or so it will come back to life

Not really, it should have its own grounding, and not touch any metal parts of the machine, plastic feet help.
Check the pc power cord and never use the 2 pronged ones on machine computers and monitors, 3 pronged ones are a must for plasma.
A quick test is to press run and yank the keyboard and mouse before the arc starts, might need a pause added to gcode, then after the cut is started and ongoing re-plug the mouse or keyboard and check if the GUI works. If it does work, get some old keyboard and mouse from Dell, Lenovo, HP as they have shielded cabling, the new ones do not.

I have had issues with wireless mice on a plasma with hf start.
only misbehaved right after the start of the cut.
also check for cheap USB cables going to anything else.
