I am really new at this. I have not even finished my machine yet. I am building a carving lathe to do canes and flutes for inlaying. From what seemed a fairly simple idea. it turned in to quite a project. But I am enjoying the challenge. Now to my question. Will emc2 allow me to machine a 4th axis? I am looking for software that will allow me to carve in the round, like a pool cue lathe. I am building everything. I dont have any pictures yet, but I can get them, if it will help your response. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I used to be a systems engineer on Windows NT, but now I use a Mac and would really like to use Linux to do design and run my machine.

EMC2 can control up to 9 axis.

I just opened emc2 after doing configs. The mouse pushes a big spot around that doesn't do anything. What gives?

Sounds like a video problem.

is this with a fresh LiveCD install?
