Running OBS on the LinuxCNC machine: Terrible idea or fine? was created by JetForMe
I'm wondering about live-streaming or recording my LinuxCNC desktop, and I wonder if it's possible to run the OBS application on the machine at the same time as LinuxCNC. In theory, this should be fine, since the RT kernel will always give LinuxCNC priority, and if there's another core left over even the stream encoding should be fine, right?
Note that the machine won't be doing all the OBS compositing and upload functions, that's being done on another machine. I just want to capture the desktop and send it over the local wired network.

That should be no problem at all given the PC has enough oompf to run them both.
