Using it 100% from the console

I want to use LinuxCNC in very old systems so I would like to avoid using the Graphic UI. So basically I would like to write the HAL I am going to use and configurations and get the kinematics calculations to move my robots but without any graphical interface.

Is that possible? If so, can you point me to the right direction on where to check and learn more about this?

Also a Mesa 7i73 might be useful if you are using a mesa card..
