Right.
I am as the title suggests a complete and utter Linux novice. I have a cnc mill that still runs on mach3 and I am getting on with that pretty good if not very basic compared to the knowledge of you guys.
I bought a small denford lathe which was running mach 3 very badly. A new to me friend has helped me massively by converting the lathe to linux and I am now struggling to get started.
I use fusion 360 for the mill and would like to use it for the lathe also. The only post processor on my Fusion is ( emc2 ) this does not support the tool paths and so I am guessing this is for milling ?
I would like to start to learn linux for myself so that I can understand more what I am doing rather than just typing what people tell me to. How is the best way to start and how did you guys get started as I am in a black hole at the minute.
Is there any recommended reading or tutorials for beginers that would help for linux lathe work and is there any post processor that is available for fusion 360 to get me started.
Any help or advice at all greatly appreciated.
Regards
Dave

Yes I am fine. Also I am about to convert a small boxford lathe with ATC to Linux.

I believe there is some conversational programmes for the lathe but I have not used them yet so ask your questions on here and see how we go.

If you want a conversational lathe interface for LinuxCNC, Andy Pugh wrote a good one...

I got a book out of the library, sort of linux for dummies. Helped a bit, but I still need a lot of help from the Linux natives here. Luckily they are very generous with their expertise.
