LinuxCNC and Arduino with CNC-Shield was created by rainerwahnsinn
Hi folks!
I'm new here and built a 3D-Printed CNC (from Leon van den Beukel) and it's running on an Arduino with CNC-Shield.
Due to the Dust in my Shop I will not use my good Laptop with WIN 10 and decided to use my LINUX-Laptop.
I Installed the DEBIAN-Image and it's running up so far. It's not connected yet to the Milling-Machine. Currently I have a spare Arduino with Shield for testing.
Now I'm searching for a way to configure the Arduino Stuff to Linux CNC. The Stepper Motors are NEMA 17 with 20 Tooth Pulleys on X and Y Axis. Z is driven by T8 Leadscrew.
Kind regards
Rainer

Arduino and LinuxCNC do not work together ( well, i am sure user DaBit made them work ) as such, but arduino can be used to automate things in some cases, there are some examples of tool changers and MPG's using arduinos.
Either way, you need a GRBL sender, not Linuxcnc for that machine, most probably, and there are several versions of it on the net like UGS that are free.

Thanks Tommy,
then I will return to Ubuntu/Mint and install UGS or bCNC there.
Kind regards Rainer
